Grip Services

Grips are inherently mean and they sometimes bite, (perhaps from all the constant neglect!) It's absolutely true. Excessively worn and tattered grips can also lead to racquet twisting and arm injury. Why not forego the medical expenses, anti-inflammatory drugs and elbow pain devices and instead make sure your grip is properly sized and in good condition? "An ounce of prevention..." Ask us today for our free racquet grip size evaluation and inspection. And always remember, if you show your grip some lovin' it will truly become a "handle with care." (It's okay to groan.)

RELATED GRIP SERVICES WE PROVIDE:

BASIC OVERGRIPS: Professionally installed with precision. No annoying bumps, full handle coverage topped off with neatly wrapped finishing tape. See our shopping section for a complete list of our top-of-the-line overgrip products.

REPLACEMENT GRIPS: Synthetic and leather grips professionally installed to replace aging and worn original grips. Leather grips provide added feel while synthetic grips place a premium on extra cushioning and dampening. See our shopping section for a complete list of our replacement grips.

GRIP BUILD-UP: In general players should use as large of a grip as they can comfortably hold. Increasing a grip by 1/16" (half size) or 1/8" (full size) is easily accomplished by adding special heat sleeves. There are other methods that can also be used. We are equipped to increase your grip size to your specifications. If you are purchasing a previously used racquet always try to purchase the correct grip size or the next size lower. While grips are easily built-up the vast majority are not able to be reduced.

HAND CHECK!

Grip size is the measure of the grip's perimeter. Standard sizes found run from 4 1/8 to 4 5/8. Using a grip that is either too large or too small can lead to arm pain and possible errors in your stroke production. The following information should be able to help you determine if your grip is correctly sized.

With a proper fitting grip, you should be able to fit the index finger of your non-hitting hand between the palm and ring finger as shown in picture to left. Another method of checking grip size is to measure from the tip of the ring finger to the bottom lateral crease in the palm of your hitting hand. If you are between sizes select the smaller size and then have is build the grip up accordingly for you.
