In 1934 the current process for stringing tennis racquets was established and has not seen significant changes or upgrades for 90+ years. Well, that is all about to change!
New Paradigm Stringing by Guts and Glory tennis, is excited to be aggressively pushing conventional thinking to the side and blazing new trails in the tennis stringing profession. Our New Paradigm Stringing methods are giving players a huge boost in on court performance by producing string beds that offer increased stability through better tension maintenance which helps preserve the optimal playing characteristics of their strings.
Players gain confidence as they find they are more easily reaching their targets with greater precision and power. This confidence, fueled by the enhanced string bed performance, is helping them to realize their full playing potential.
This "new paradigm" in stringing is made possible through the use of equipment that changes a key fundamental element of how stringing machines achieve tension. The Pro Stringer electronic full constant pull stringing machine, PSX, tensions the string directly against the racquet frame. This greatly reduces the amount (length) of string that is being pulled 2x thus helping to preserve optimal playing characteristics. When using conventional machines, the racquet's sweet spot consists of strings that have been at least partially pulled multiple times. With Pro Stringer, no part of the string near the sweet zone has been pulled more than once. No other constant pull machine applies tension in this manner and no other achieves the same results.
We have embraced this new technology and adapted the most recent JET Method of stringing, conceived by John Elliott, to create a process that is uniquely achieved using Pro Stringer tools. The process we have developed, has been tested extensively. Due to positive feedback, we now highly recommend it for our poly-based string customers. The details of the process will be shared with anyone (customers or fellow stringing professionals) interested in learning more about how it works.
In addition to our new process, we are now also making greater use of the Sergetti stringing method. The scientifically based Sergetti Method takes multiple factors such as string type, stringbed density, racquet flex and traditional tension settings into account. Sergetti inputs your personal equipment preferences into a formula and produces a unique string tensioning protocol for applying tension to each individual string in your racquet. Racquets strung using this method will realize a significantly larger sweet zone (up to 58%), 3x more stability and power on off-center hits, increased string durability and less shock which correlates to fewer injuries to wrist, elbow and shoulder.
We have also revised our proprietary proportional stringing method that we have been successfully using for years...primarily with customers suffering from arm related issues and those looking for an increase in power without sacrificing control. Our proportional stringing process has been revised to take full advantage of the new Pro Stringer equipment we are using.
While we still also offer traditional stringing using our Wilson Baiardo, we plan to strongly encourage our local customers to switch to one of these new/more modern methods of stringing with the new Pro Stringer equipment.
Currently the fully electronic constant pull PSX from Pro Stringer is not published as being available on their site. The production of these units is limited. Contact us for details on how you can score one. Cost starts at $2099 but with a referral from us you will receive a discount and a free starting clamp and awl.
